Rising Juniors

(A rising junior is a student starting junior year in September 2018)

Junior year is wrought with questions that need to be answered and tests that need to be taken. Use summer vacation wisely by planning ahead when they should take their standardized tests, and what college planning steps need to be taken.

Which test should my child take and how can I best help them plan for college?
Junior year can be one of the most stressful times thanks to standardized test. Use the summer to plan how to tackle these tests. This package is designed specifically to help you and your child answer the questions “Should my child take the SAT or ACT?” and “When should they take it?” and “How do we plan for college admissions?”

Start with a simulated ACT and a simulated SAT (these are official tests that were given in the past and are accurate indicators for where your child is now). After that you and your child will meet with Bo, the owner of Academic Resources, who will walk you through how they did on each section of each test and how the results compare. He will recommend which test he thinks your child is more suited towards and help you decide when they should take it based on how they did, classes they are entering, sports and extra curricular schedules and other factors. You and your child will also meet with Russ, our Director of College Planning, and gain an overview of how to efficiently spend junior  year planning for college (this meeting can be set even before taking the simulated tests).

Cost: $70*

*If you choose to tutor with us the cost of this package is applied as a credit towards your first tutoring hour, group or package
